I gave this drum to my 18 month grandson for Christmas 2009. It was a great hit with his 3yr sister and 2 1/2 year old cousin. They all enjoyed it. The drum is made with a real skin and has a great drum sound. I highly recommend this drum for any child boy or girl.

My kids LOVE this drum. With this drum a great time is had by all! It satisfies a lot of needs, beating stuff, making loud noises, & jamming like a fiend… They have a great time and are learning about musical basics (rhythm-etc.) It is sturdy and holding up well. Not the most resonant tone, but decent. Just plain fun, we need to get more.

We bought this drum for our three year old for Christmas. It was a huge hit–with everyone, including the adults. It is very well-made and has a great sound. Love it.

This floor tom tom is big and sturdy, and the drumstick is soft enough that my little friends couldn’ really hurt each other when they started beating each other instead of the drum. It’s really loud though, so this is a good present for grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents and other friends to buy for little ones. In other words, give it as a gift, then go HOME TO YOUR HOUSE so the parents get to enjoy the noise and you don’t! Hahahaha! Seriously, this is really fun and was a big hit with the kids.

I was disapppointed by the sound and tone of the drum, especially if played with the bare hands, and it failed to raise the curiosity of my 1 year old the way pots and pans easily did.

Overall it is not a big improvement compared to the empty can of baby formula that my son used to drum on before.

Any typical drum classified as ethnic percussion would do a better job at making interesting and exciting sounds: darbuka, djembe, sabar, tablas, congas, cajon.

On the positive side the graphic is very appealing to toddlers, the rubber bottom saved the hardwood floor from serious damage and the kid can even make it roll like a wheel without any problem.
