What Type of Drumsticks Should I Get?

After a several drum lessons, I have decided that I want to carry on playing, so my tutor suggested that I get some sticks. At the time I forgot to ask him what type etc, and my next lesson is Saturday. I would like to have some sticks by then.
If anybody knows what the best type of sticks would be for a beginner and why, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

Vaters are my personal favorite, they’re durable and long lasting. Don’t get zildjian sticks, they don’t last at all. Vic Firths are also a good brand. For beginners it’s recommended that you buy thicker sticks for better control/development and more durability (size 2B or 5B). But I’d say get whatever feels right and comfortable to you. Also, nylon or wood heads are more of a personal preference. Nylon will last longer and not get beat up with the rest of your stick, but the head can come off after long use which is annoying.

    Have fun
