I’m 12 and starting drum lessons soon.
I’m wondering if this will be okay to start off with. We need something which is easy for beginners to use but is still good enough to use when I start to advance so we don’t have to buy a new drum kit.

EDIT: I mean so we won’t have to buy a new drum kit for a while. Meaning when I get to advance it will still be ok to use.

It’s alright. I wouldn’t recommend Mapex though. You should get Tama, their kits are amazing. And also, Mapex’s hardware isn’t the greatest, so a Tama(which has really good hardware) will cost less in the long run.
Wierd, I started at 12 too.
EDIT** I just looked at the kit again, and it isn’t that great of a kit, so definetly go with a Tama.
It is a good drumming kit but not for beginners. If you already have drumming pads that would probably be a good thing to get. But if you don’t you should get the drumming pads first.
Yeah, that’ll be good for a while. Just make sure you get new heads every once in a while. Mapex is a good company.
