The bass in this tune is great too. Simon can jam. Ah, im just a pete freak. Lovely job, just kickin it boyfriend.
This is not an easy song to nail. This is awesome! Love how you got them tuned, just brilliant. and a fantastic song anyhow.
I love your cymbals, are they all zildjians? If you don’t mind, can you tell me the the sizes of the chinas, they are awesome/
Great job, Froggman. I really enjoyed wathing an not at least listening.
btw. Happy birthday Pete.
Ok this was a very tight grove…and an open handed player to boot..nice …the sound was great and the vid was HQ and clean…all in all a nice presentation.
you are great sir! wishing to be like you someday!
So the main snare/hat grove is a para-diddle between both?
Nice job friend.
Let’s try this again…
Wonderfully done! I used to play keys in a band that played this cover and it was always a blast to play – such powerful builds and releases. On a related note, I had the opportunity to see the great Simon Phillips just last year playing drums alongside another great player – Marco Minnemann. This was all part of Eddie Jobson’s traveling UZ project. It was awesome!!! So is your playing – thanks for posting this!
Thank you for a such well thought through comment.
Personally I agree with you Wholeheartedly
I always felt that a very important aspect of percussion was to to maintain a sense of “grounding” in a musical piece. While the melody soared, the drums kept the “sound on the ground”…you did this with grace and elegance and I very much enjoy viewing your video from time to time.
Hi kootch, I never thought of it this way. I must agree you are right. I’ll add Drum Cover to the title. I appreciate the input.
Froggman
NO offense poster, but…………
When I click on a clip entitled – GIVE BLOOD : Pete Townshend,
It would be nice if it wasn’t something like this,
You’re not the only one to do this and I certainly agree with your evaluation of Mr. Phillips, which is why I came to this clip in the 1st place.
Again, all due respect, I just wish you folks would find another avenure for your outlet or at the very least clearly identify this is not the actual artist.
My 2 cents.
Love what you did here!
Thank you , this tune has everything a drummer could want. Simon Phillips has done some amazing drumming over his career.
Thank you man!
Wow…nailed the parts and also the groove. Fluid and nuanced…not merely aping. You have the goods…I used to play the Gilmour parts on guitar and loved it….but would gladly give up what skills I have left on guitar to play like this on drums. (I’m a basher, at best!) The drummer in the band I was in loved playing this and I always knew why. Bravo, sir!
close? close to what? close to better than fanfreakintastic?
you my friend are amazing …. great job
WOW! I must say I disagree with the statement Ex Drummer,,,,,,,Once a drummer always a drummer!!!
I too was off for many years…….13 to be exact. I stepped back into playing in 2002, and just hacked around for a couple of years, then found myself being asked to play more and more…..so,,here I am,,,,,,,,,,46. I hope you follow your heart and get back in the saddle!
Cheers
Petar
Great job! Very inspirational! I am a 42 year old ex drummer who is getting back in the game after a 25 year hiatus. You make me want to play again. This tune came out about the time I walked away from drumming. I am looking forward to trying to emulate you and Jeff Porcaro among others. Almost have my kit together again. And when I get back in the groove, I’m going to post some videos. Once again man, great job and nice kit.
close…..
Nice drumset and playing
Wow man, very sweet Petar!
Cool, man ^^ nice kit ;] 5/5
