		<description>That sounds like a regular timpani. Hopefully, I can get my hands on a drumset someday to write with, and I&#039;ll remember to use this. It really does sound like a timpani, I&#039;m curious to find out what a timpani sounds like if struck with a normal drumstick. (Like thousands of dollars going down the tube?)</description>

		<description>why not arrange the timpani in the normal drum set set-up and add a hi-hat plus cymbals? :) only problem is that it&#039;s difficult to switch playing on diff. drums.</description>

If you want to see how timpani sound when struck with a drum stick, then try it! Timpani heads are much more durable than you might think and many good timpanists actually have a set of timpani mallets that are wooden at the tip. It&#039;s certainly possible to dent the head a little bit, so don&#039;t do it on the best drums and don&#039;t do it extremely loudly.

And if you DO happen to damage it, it&#039;s not thousands of $5,000 down the tube. Timpani heads are about $70 and are replaceable.</description>
